I’m sure we’ve all heard the following statement: Find something you love to do and you’ll never work a day in your life. One of the worst feelings in the world is waking up every morning and going to a job that you hate. I believe there are two types of people in the world (ha…isn’t that a lyric in a Britney Spears song?). Those who go after their dreams and believe it to be a passion, and those who see it as a job and can’t wait for the weekend.
I happen to be one of the lucky ones! I work in an industry that I am truly passionate about and I get to work with some of the greatest people. Of course, not everyone feels the same way.
I admire people who take a leap of faith and go after their dreams. It can be a scary thing and I commend them. I have a remarkable friend who took that leap from working as a speech therapist to designing her own fabulous chic jewelry line.
My friend Marcie loved to collect vintage jewelry. Back in college, we played volleyball together and I can remember every time we traveled anywhere, she would be on the hunt for a vintage boutique. At the time, I never really understood her passion, but I was fine with tagging along to see what we could discover. Years later as her collection started to grow, she had her “aha” moment and realized her calling was to design and make vintage jewelry. With no silversmith experience but an eye for design, she decided to self-teach herself and let her imagination run free.
As I followed her progress on social media, I was enamored by her dedication and skill. It was almost as if she was a silversmith in her past life because she caught on quickly and started producing some really gorgeous jewelry.
As she wore her unique, one of a kind jewelry pieces, people immediately started asking about them. The buzz about her jewelry spread like wildfire and that was the moment she decided to make it a full-time business.
Her company is called Voyagers Dream and you can find her on Website, Instagram, and Facebook. Her pieces range from earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings. These pieces are truly one of a kind and add a chic look to any outfit. Follow her on social media to see her latest creations (custom orders available). She is unstoppable…her proud is carried in almost 200 stores in the United States!
Words cannot describe how proud I am of you, Marcie. Keep up the fantastic work!
